FAQs
Anyone who wants to use drones for work purposes is required to hold a remote pilot licence and adhere to the Standard Operating Conditions laid out by CASA.
Toll Uncrewed Systems offers a comprehensive Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) course from our training bases. Our RePL training course contains all the skills and knowledge drone operators need to obtain RePL certification and begin operating drones on a commercial or professional basis.
You don’t need to obtain a licence if you fly drones for leisure or other private purposes. Likewise, Sub 2kg aircraft are an Excluded Category and you won’t need a licence to operate one commercially.
While recreational pilots aren’t required to hold a remote pilot licence, taking a course is a good way to get started as a drone pilot and gain experience with a range of platforms. If you are an amateur pilot or a professional who wants to operate a Sub 2kg aircraft, our Introduction to Drones course is a good alternative to our full RePL course.
We have a genuine passion for training the next generation of drone pilots. To help further the industry and upskill future drone operators, we make it as easy as possible to participate in our course.
The practical component of our training is provided by experienced instructors at our operations base. Our practical training provides in-depth experience with a variety of drone platforms that are often used by employers.
The theoretical component of our course is available as face-to-face classes or through our online portal. We’ve designed our dedicated student portal to give participants better access to important documentation and training materials.
This portal also allows students to attend online RePL training courses from the comfort of their own home.
